Deb is a contemporary native artist who explores the unique position held by Pueblo women artists as essential keepers of tradition and cultural identity, while taking a leading role in sharing the living culture with the world outside the Pueblo. Utilizing centuries-old art forms, symbols of the past, creating symbolic imagery for the future. For a morning Deb will share with us her process with printmaking and collage. Peggy Cloy & Willowtail Springs Nature Preserve and Education Center
On Wednesday we will visit Willowtail Springs, located just a short distance from Mancos. There we will be treated to a brief presentation by Peggy Cloy, artist and founder of Willowtail Springs. It is located on 60 pristine acres in the high desert near Mancos, and comprised of sweeping meadows, ancient forests of Pinon and Juniper, a private lake, streams and lush gardens where we will have an outdoor dinner. An Evening at the Mancos Common Press with Annie Seder
On Thursday night, after dinner in Mancos, we will visit the Mancos Common Press where printmaker Annie Seder will give us a tour of the facility and provide an interactive printmaking demonstration. The Mancos Common Press is an historic renovated letterpress studio which shares the grounds with the newly constructed Mancos Commons, a mixed-use facility with a printmaking/art studio.
